Activities

Fellowship and community outreach are great opportunities to not only strengthen the relationships within the church family but also build the church. The church isn't just a building, its the people.

Passover Meal

On April 15, 2023 about 60 members met to celebrate a "Passover Meal" to learn how this most important meal for Israel connects to us as Christians today. We learned about the various components of the meal including the food, rituals and prayers. The Passover meal was instituted when God passed over Egypt and the Israelites firstborn were saved by the lamb's blood being applied to the lintel and doorposts.

This was to be an annual remembrance as God tells them “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord—a lasting ordinance." (Exodus 12:14). We learned how Jesus transformed certain aspects of the meal such as replacing the ceremonial hand washing with His washing of the disciples feet.

Children were involved in many facets of the celebration such as pouring grape juice, washing hands and searching for the hidden maẓẓah bread similar to what children would have done at the Passover Meals long ago. It was an educational experience with the added benefit of good fellowship and an enjoyable meal.

Ladies Fellowship Activities

We look for ways to have women fellowship to draw closer together and grow spiritually. Periodically, we have Ladies Days that are a great opportunity for women from Mason Street and other congregations to come together for fellowship and spiritual feeding. These gatherings help women to become what Peter tells them to be "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. " (1 Peter 3:3-5a) Through a combination of presenters, discussion and fellowshipping, women have a great opportunity to grow spiritually with sisters in Christ.

Men's Fellowship Activities

Monthly there is an opportunity for men to fellowship over breakfast and then spend time discussing some aspect of being a godly man. Titus 2:2 tells us "Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. " Continuing in verses 6-8 Paul says "Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us. " These breakfasts are a great opportunity to grow in spirit and fellowship.

High Cliff Worship and Fellowship

Each fall we meet on a Sunday morning at High Cliff State Park for Bible Study, Worship and a fellowship meal. There are fun activities for the kids to learn about God's wonderful creation. Adults have a great opportunity to worship in an environment that is such a great reminder of God's great creation. We are reminded of Isaiah 45:18 which says "For this is what the Lord says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited—he says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other. "
